Music fans watching the Grammys last night weren't the only ones upset with CBS cutting the finale performance short. Trent Reznor took angrily to Twitter after the Grammys closed, blasting an obvious tweet in the direction of CBS and the Grammys.
The performance itself consisted of Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) Lindsey Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac) and Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) the group managed to get through two songs, Nine Inch Nails "Copy of A" and Queens of the Stone Age's "My God Is The Sun" before CBS started running commercials overtop of their performance and then finally ending the broadcast.
I know that the program was already 15 minutes behind, but I must say even I was a little peeved...I was actually looking forward to that performance the most. I am a huge fan of Queens of The Stone Age and Dave Grohl, not to forget Lindsey Buckingham, who is such an incredible musician and legend! So when they pulled the plug I was not pleased at all. I truly find it disrespectful to the members of the bands that were performing.
Trent Reznor was already in the news back in 2011 after he lost his 2 Grammy Trophies during a move to a new house. He ended up telling the press that he really didn't care and wasn't going to look for them any time soon. When asked about why the Grammys didn't matter to him he replied with:
"Why don't the Grammys matter? Because it feels rigged and cheap- like a popularity contest that the insiders club has decided."
Needless to say after this second round of issues, I don't think we will be seeing Trent Reznor or Nine Inch Nails on the Grammys stage anytime soon. Which is very unfortunate.
What did you think about last night's Grammy performance or the overall Grammy ceremony? Let me know in the comments!
